The Most Important Accessory

Those who are just as fashion obsessed as I am will often get so caught up in having the right clothes and shoes and any article you may think of, that they often forget the most important accessory: confidence. At this point my readers may be thinking that this is the most cliche post they have read by far, but hear me out.

Confidence is the one thing that can make any outfit work, and look overall put together. Once you learn to display this quality, you will start to notice that you will feel better about wearing different styles that you wouldn’t generally feel comfortable in, and you may begin to receive more compliments.

A common question I receive upon giving this advice is: “How do I gain confidence?” The fact of the matter is that you don’t. Confidence isn’t something that could ever just be handed to you on a silver platter. If you look to others to find your own confidence you will never achieve it. Confidence is something you have to generate; it’s all in your mind.

Ways to train your brain into being more confident can be as simple as adding finishing touches on your outfit such as a bright lipstick or wearing your favorite pair of heels. The heels are by far my favorite because hearing the clicking when I walk makes me feel powerful … but that’s just me.

The final piece of advice I can give you on this topic is to look in the mirror every day after you have gotten dressed and tell yourself, mentally, that you look good and that nobody has the right to tell you otherwise.

  1. This is so true. For me I feel more confident when my nails are done. So I try to make sure that my nails look good everyday. Something about having my nails done makes me feel powerful and that makes me feel confident.
