Save or Splurge ...
It is an absolute that everyone wants to look luxurious in any way they can. Those who can afford it go out of their way to spend thousands of dollars on designer clothing, and those who can’t think they have to settle for cheap materials and simplistic graphic t-shirts because they don’t see themselves as being able to afford the more expensive and luxurious clothing. I’m here to tell you the trick of the trade : it’s all about knowing where to save and where to splurge.
Knowing where to shop should be your number one priority. Going to thrift shops can be helpful on occasion, however you will find that much of the nicer clothing you will find will be worn out or in some cases (speaking from personal experience) will even have stains on them. These stores are not to be completely ruled out, but when you don’t have time to spend hours on end looking for presentable clothing in thrift stores your next best bet is to go to places such as Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and H&M.
Once you have selected your shopping grounds it’s crucial to know what to look for. Don’t buy things that are entirely flimsy and will fall apart within wearing them a few times, but try to really hunt and find good things in these stores. Simple pieces such as solid tops, fitted dresses, and bodysuits are essential and can be found for reasonable prices. You can always dress these pieces up with sparkly jewelry (the fake kind of course, let’s be reasonable) and faux fur coats, faux silk wraps, etc.
As for shoes and accessories you can find an abundance of cheap goods in most malls. You just have to get out there and look for deals … you would be surprised at how much you can find for a small price. Another option is making your own jewelry and buying supplies from your local craft store.
The fun, and also not fun, part of shopping is splurging; But what makes it even more enjoyable is knowing that you are getting the right quality of material for what you are paying. When you get the opportunity to splurge, good luxury items to go for include: purses, shoes (especially heels), luggage, and some luxury materials. Leather purses, for example, are a great splurge item because they hold up nicely and can be passed down as vintage (the same goes for jewelry).
Now that you lovelies are aware of where to save and where to splurge, I can gladly wish you happy shopping for now and the rest of your days.
